I recently stumbled across your site and have spent so much time browsing! I live on the site of the former Moonlite Drive-In, and while I love my home, I’d almost rather it was still used as a drive-in!
Just thought I’d drop you a note to offer a correction — the topo map and perhaps accompanying photo are actually of the San Jose Auto Movie, the first drive-in in San Jose. The Santa Clara theater would have El Camino Real on its east side, not Gish Road. I’ve found this page that offers more info on the San Jose Auto Movie.
