Macon, Georgia comment

Jim:
Nice job on the drive-in page. I love those topo photos.

Macon, GA had quite a few drive-ins and the last one closed in the summer of 1984 (Southside Drive-In on US 129S of Macon). It was called the Weis Drive-In during previous years.

There was
North Macon: Riverside Drive-In on Arkwright/Riverside where Carrabba’s is.

West Macon: MotorVue (closed in 1960s; KMart then a furniture store took that space at US80/US41)

East Macon: Dixie Drive-In, closed in mid-70s, off Jeffersonville Road (apartment complex is there now)

South Macon- Weis Drive In and 41 Drive-In (the latter is where a Fed-Ex facility is located).

Warner Robins had a drive-in north of the main gate of Robins AFB off GA247/US129.

If I am not wrong I saw the remains of a drive-in off GA11 near Social Circle, GA. An empty field and a marquee remained as of last year or so.

PS: I couldn’t find the Jesup GA drive-in theater when I drove on US 341 a few months ago. Hmmm….

Take care
Ken
