Abilene has 1 open: Town And Country Drive-in and 1 closed: Park Drive-in

just north of Vogel Avenue. Town and Country Drive-In

and within sight of I-20/US-80. And just west of Cat Claw Creek. topo and photo

a second Drive-In was located south of the power lines, west of the Burlington Northern railroad tracks [ near BM, i.e. benchmark, 1661 ], and south of Elm Creek.

Entrance from BR-83/BR-277. These are ‘branches’ of state highways or ‘Business Route’.

Kind of hard to tell if it was a 2 screener or thats something else on the left side of the picture. For those that don’t know Texas gets it, thats snow on the ground in the photo.

one: northwest of Route 71 in Montopolis, Tx. topo, closed

two: northwest of the US-290/Route 71 – US-81/I-35 interchange. topo

I didn’t find a third drive-in location



Ballinger: Hillcrest Drive-In

south of town on US-83, near Highway 114 or its FM 114. I’m not sure… topo and photo

you can still see part of the parking rows.



Baytown: Decker Twin Drive-In

on Route 330/Decker Drive topo and photo, definately closed.



Beaumont: Showtown USA Twin Drive-In

Belton:, Hardie

All traces of it are gone.

Between the Highway-530 marker on the map, and I-35. map and photo

It was south of town, south of US-190, and west of I-35. Just west of where the Hilltop Cafe used to be.

This was from about I-35 over to where BM 673 is on the map. I-35 is the vertical road, and US-190 is the horizontal road.

About where the Highway 530 marker is on the map used to be a small plane landing strip, you could take a ride around the area. Thats gone as well.

Bryan: The Skyway Twin

The Skyway Twin Drive-In was located just west of Maria Road. topo and photo

Looks like a 2 screen alright ! But the rows have brush growing in them, not much else there.

Only one looks like a twin screen, topo or aerial photos. But it is hard to tell as most are completely gone.
